Let's see if we can add a second entry to this page!
We are still in Port Lincoln, and hope to depart for Pearson Island in a day or so.  Pearson is a granite island with spectacular rocks, seals, sealions, wallabies, and lizards. Crayfisfh in the water but we haven't got wetsuits. It is about 150 miles away, some distance offshore from Elliston on Eyre Peninsular. We will head straight to Tasmania from there so will be out of telephone range for some time - don't know if we can get phone at Port Davey in Tasmania.
We have had a fruitful time in Port Lincoln - a lobster mornay at Phil & Silvia's and also some lovely lobster legs with Fran & Bazz on "Time Out" - we did a yacht race around Boston Island with them at the weekend. Phil & Silvia have shown us around the Lincoln area & up to Point Avoid and Coffin Bay, where we joined them in an orienteering event - we did it at a modest walking pace - Phil ran & Silvia cycled (she has done an Iron Man competition in Hawaii!) After the event we visited a market in a local hall where someone found a baby tiger snake running around their boxes of stock!!!
Have also done a few jobs on board while we have been here - modify anchor bracket to hold anchor further away from hull, modify saltwater plumbing to galley to prevent recycling of water, fix broken brass fitting in freshwater tank that was causing an air leak (hence can't pump water out of tank) fill up with fuel & water, change engine oil & filter, brackets to hold new boathook and other long skinny things under the cockpit coamings, purchase more fishing gear, preserve more jars of meat.
Time to get going with laundry and tidy up the boat ready for sea, and last minute shopping, so will see if we can "publish" this.  Hope to add more photos in the not too distant future.
Cheers
Mike & Gay
